Singing, dancing, and culture in all its forms are part of the day to day life in Latvia. But there is one event which holds a special place in the busy Latvian cultural calendar – the Nationwide Latvian Song and Dance Celebration.

Easter is a special time, universally enjoyed in Latvia, regardless of people’s religious beliefs.

There’s a Latvian riddle that goes like this - “What is white at both ends and green in between?” Have you guessed? Not yet? I will help you. It is the Latvian year.

This Sunday, November 18, the Republic of Latvia turns 94.
