Latvia’s Theme in Expo 2015 – “Apiary of life”

The ministry of Economics together with professionals of the creative sector are promoting “Apiary of life” as the theme for Latvia’s stand in Expo 2015.

The exposition is planned to be dedicated to honey and beekeeping – traditional crafts of Latvia.

A bee-garden is chosen as an example of an ecosystem, because three of its main components are vital for the existence of humanity – bees, water and man.

With the theme in mind Latvia plans to touch on such topics of global importance as protection of the environment, biological diversity, interactivity and eco-systematic thinking. It is being thought that Latvia’s pavilion could become an ideal spot for seminars and conferences on these topics for experts from around the world.

Expo 2015 will take place in Milan, Italy, from May 1st 2015 – October 31st 2015.
