LNSO season closing concert on 11th May
On 11th May, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) is closing the 2011/2012 season with an outstanding performance of works of various composers. Conducting will be LNSO chief conductor Karel Mark Chichon.
Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet is one of the most tragic and emotional pieces of music ever written and who better to bring it to life than Karel Mark Chichon, whose interpretations of the Russian classics have become unforgettable events in Riga for many years.
Chichon will be joined by the internationally renowned violinist Guy Braunstein, 1st concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker, who makes his debut in Riga with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.
On the programme are Ludwig van Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Op. 84, Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, and Sergei Prokofiev's Excerpts from Romeo and Juliet Suite.
As all tickets to LNSO season closing concert are sold out, those who are interested are welcome to attend the General rehearsal of the concert on 11th May at 10am in Riga's Great Guild.
